Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Security Receptionist to join our busy team at the Trevor Gibbens Unit in Maidstone.

As a key member of the Reception Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and secure operation of the reception area. Your duties will include carrying out all tasks in line with the Unit's Security and Reception procedures, maintaining effective monitoring processes, using security resources and equipment and reporting any discrepancies to the Head of Security.

Liaise with all wards and departments on various security and reception matters, along with composing and circulating necessary e-mails once approval is sought from the Head of Security and Security On Call out of hours.
• Present a professional and courteous image to all patients, staff and visitors entering and exiting the unit.
• Ensure an identity check takes place for all persons wishing to enter or exit the unit, and compliance with relevant security equipment, including regular checks of alarms and radios.
• Maintaining responsibility for the Reception Desk, airlock system and monitor.
• Ensure that only authorised visitors are granted admission to the unit, and all records of staff and visitors are kept up to date.
• Ensure that all visitors are directed to and reminded of prohibited items before they enter the airlock/secure areas.
• Ensure all visitors and returning patients are searched in accordance with secure guidelines.
• Ensure that any potential security breach is reported to the Head of Security, or Out of Hours Security On Call.
