We’re looking for a Building Services Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join our Estate Facilities and Scientific Services team. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in maintaining and improving our electrical and building services, ensuring everything runs safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

What You’ll Do

Maintain and repair electrical systems and building services across our site.
Ensure electrical equipment is serviced to minimize downtime and prevent failures.
Oversee contractors, ensuring work meets Rothamsted Research standards and safety requirements.
Carry out planned maintenance and repairs in line with SFG20 and statutory legislation.

What We’re Looking For

Strong experience in electrical maintenance with a solid understanding of electrical systems and distribution (ACB, MCCB, MCB, RCD, RCBO, etc.).
Knowledge of generators, UPS systems, and BMS controls.
Excellent fault-finding skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Familiarity with HVAC or mechanical services maintenance is a plus.
Great communication and planning skills, with a commitment to health and safety.
