Summary
Act as Team leader within the Post-Operative Critical Care Unit (POCCU) and Intensive Care Unit (ITU) on a shift basis Provide support to the Band 7 Group Leader in the management and development of staff The post holder works unsupervised with the abilityto care for all Level 2/3 critical care patients In conjunction with clinical leads assist in ensuring that agreed patient management plans and standards of care are implemented, evaluated, and adhered to, thus providing high standards of care at all times To supervise and instruct junior colleagues and be a resource for them in the clinical area To act as an effective role model and resource / advisor to colleagues in the delivery of nursing care. Promotes and maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients in line with the Trusts Risk Management Strategy and Policies. Maintain a personal development plan and assist in the formulation and updating of personal development plans of junior colleagues. Assist the lead in clinical lead in quality and risk management for critical care in audits and the development and implementation of action plans.
