Summary
Duties of the post The site specialist interests will be agreed on acceptance of the post, but experience in colorectal oncology and breast oncology are required. Clinical The appointee should be able to demonstrate experience and specific interest in the management of breast, colorectal and AOS Oncology. The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop disease specific areas of interest, working alongside the current Oncology team at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust. In keeping with the departments ambition as a teaching hospital, the appointee will have the opportunity to engage in research and would be encouraged to utilise world class expertise based on Campus within the University of Birmingham (UoB), the Cancer Research Clinical Trials Unit and the Institute for Translational Medicine to progress the research strategy under the umbrella of Birmingham Health Partners KEY SKILLS * Broad experience and understanding of oncology * Specialist oncology and tumour site sub speciality experience * Demonstrates good interpersonal skills with patients, relatives and members of the clinical team * Ability to gain confidence and trust * Ability to cope with pressure * Ability to respond to change * Conscientious and hardworking * Positive contribution to MDTs * Flexibility in working pattern * Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with patients and their families
