Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and forward-thinking Pharmacy Digital and Informatics Lead to provide senior leadership in the delivery of digital transformation across pharmacy services. This post is open to both registered Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.
At Band 8a, the postholder will lead the operational delivery and optimisation of pharmacy digital systems.
At Band 8b, the post holder will have significant experience in previous management of digital systems, have a proven track record in leadership and will have a broader strategic remit, shaping digital medicines strategy across the organisation or system, influencing senior stakeholders, and leading complex transformation programmes.
This role is critical to ensuring digital systems support safe, effective, and efficient use of medicines while aligning with national digital and medicines optimisation priorities.
• Provide senior leadership for pharmacy digital and informatics services
• Lead the development, delivery, and ongoing review of the pharmacy digital strategy
• Act as the professional and subject matter expert for pharmacy informatics
• Lead or oversee implementation and optimisation of digital medicines systems, including EPMA, pharmacy dispensing, stock control, and clinical decision support
• Work collaboratively with IT, digital, clinical, and operational teams to ensure safe system design and change management
• At 8b level: influence organisational and system-wide digital strategy and represent pharmacy at senior digital governance forums
• Use data, analytics, and informatics to support quality improvement, assurance, and service development
• Ensure compliance with information governance, cybersecurity, and national standards
• Lead training, adoption, and digital capability development within pharmacy service
