We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and dynamic nurse to join our small, friendly and forward thinking team.
The Acute Oncology Team provides early input of specialist care to oncology patients enabling safer and better quality care to patients with complications of treatments or new diagnosis. You would need to possess the skills and confidence to urgently review patients with complications of cancer and ensure appropriate pathways of care are put in place. The role also provides specialist support to patients with Cancer of Unknown Primary through the pathway of care from diagnosis to end of life care.
The post holder will be expected to demonstrate specialist knowledge and experience relating to all aspects of oncological malignancy, experience in a senior nursing role and be educated to first degree level. The AOS team cover both QMC and City sites Monday – Friday and the successful candidate would be expected to be flexible to meet the changing needs of the service in the future.
The post holder will be required to demonstrate the ability to prioritise workloads, use their own initiative and manage a caseload of patients autonomously.
The post holder will be expected to be able to assist in implementing and providing both formal and informal education programmes on the Acute Oncology Service to staff within the Trust.
The Acute Oncology Service is committed to providing the highest quality of care and maintaining consistently high standards in a professional and friendly atmosphere. NUH has a set of values and behaviours which are summarised in the job description for this post.

To offer compassionate, sensitive care ensuring physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs are met.
To work with the CUP team to develop a service for this specialist group of patients, including MDT and outpatient clinics.
