About the role

We are on the lookout for a Project Manager - Automation to join our Distribution Transformation team here at Tesco. We are looking for someone who has Automation experience specifically with AMR – autonomous mobile robots or has a background in Robotics.

As part of our team, you’ll play a key role in driving initiatives that enhance profitability and support our long-term growth ambitions.

You will be responsible for

  • Lead projects within the Automation area that improve and transform our Distribution Centre operations.
  • Manage end-to-end delivery—from planning to implementation—using an agile approach.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Tesco and externally.
  • Coordinate resources and timelines to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Champion digital solutions and innovation to shape the future of Tesco.
  • Share lessons learned and drive continuous improvement after project completion.

You will need

  • Automation experience is essential.
  • Working with AMRs or Robotics in the Distribution or Logistics world.
  • Proven project management experience in retail, logistics, or similar environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects and influence stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent analytical and financial skills, including budget management.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies (APM, Prince2 preferred).
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work independently when needed.
