Summary
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Islington to assist with the appointment of a Caretaker, on a 3.5-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £17.28 - £23.01 per hour
Summary:
The Caretaker is a frontline role within the Estate Services team, responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and well-managed communal areas across housing estates. The post holder will work closely with residents, colleagues, and management to deliver a high-quality caretaker service while ensuring health & safety, safeguarding, and customer care standards are met.
Responsibilities:
Carry out caretaking and cleaning duties across estates in line with service standards and management direction
Maintain cleanliness of communal areas, shrub beds, lawns, and hard-standing areas
Undertake minor communal repairs in accordance with Health & Safety requirements
Report repairs, damage, emergencies, and incidents (fire, flood, burglary, etc.) to the relevant teams
Maintain estate lighting and monitor communal facilities
Hold and manage keys for communal areas, vacant dwellings, and estate facilities
Essentials:
Some experience in caretaking, cleaning, or similar duties (paid or unpaid)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication skills and ability to deal with tenants and complaints
Physically able to carry out manual duties and work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to respond to emergency situations
