Summary

GR Employment Ltd is recruiting for a Class 1 (C+E) Driver on behalf of one of our customers based at Swindon Service Centre, Dorcan Industrial Estate.

You will be a frontline representative of the company, responsible for the safe and timely delivery and collection of secure shipments to and from Service Centres and Hub facilities. The post holder is directly responsible for enhancing the customer experience at every stage through a conscientious and dedicated approach to tasks.

The ideal candidate will live within close proximity of the Swindon Service Centre, meaning they are able to travel a reasonable distance to and from the depot for start and finish times.

Shift Pattern (Night Trunk with Sleepout)

Monday to Friday - Start: 19:00

o Depart Swindon (SWN): 20:00

o Arrive East Midlands Airport (EMA): 22:45

o Sleepout: 23:30 – 03:30

o Sleep start: 23:30

o Sleep end: 03:30

o Depart EMA: 05:00

o Arrive Swindon (SWN): 07:45

o Finish: 08:00

Average total shift: Approximately 9 hours

Contracted hours: 45 hours per week

Hourly Rate: £19.00 per hour

Shift Premium: Extra £2.71 per hour after 7.00 pm
Saturday Premium: Extra £1.18 per hour
Sunday Premium: Extra £2.20 per hour

Overtime is paid after 45 hours at time and a half


Job responsibilities:

Safely driving and operating a Class 1 to deliver and collect secure shipments

Planning and managing your daily routes to meet deadlines efficiently

Ensuring the security of shipments and compliance with company policies and legal regulations

Job qualifications:

Hold a valid Class 1 Driving Licence (C + E), Driver CPC Qualification and Digital Tachograph Card

Ideally, have 6 months of recent driving experience

Excellent organisational and route-planning skills

Flexibility to handle varying workloads and operational peaks

Strong knowledge of local and regional routes

Commitment to working safely within the EU Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Regulations

For insurance purposes, you must be at least 21 years old and have no more than 9 penalty points on your driving licence within the last 3 years
