It will be for 18 hours per week, ideally starting at 8am Monday-Thursday (4-5 hours per day, exact times can be discussed)
The rate of pay is £12.87 per hour.
Having experienced a stroke over a year ago, the lady you will be caring for is mobile and independent within the home but requires support with specific personal tasks and relies on a wheelchair for safety and stability when leaving the house. She has a sharp mind and values engaging conversations, reading, and games.
An affection for animals is essential, as she shares her home with a friendly dog and three cats.
Your duties as a Personal Assistant will be centred on providing person-centred, compassionate support such as:
Personal Care: Providing dignified assistance with washing, dressing, and personal hygiene.
Mobility & Community Access: Safely assisting with transfers (getting into/out of chairs) and providing skilled wheelchair assistance for all outings, appointments, and shopping trips.
Domestic Management: Performing light housekeeping, laundry, dishwashing, and general maintenance of a tidy home.
Nutritional Support: Assisting with meal preparation and prompting.
Companionship: Offering stimulating company through conversation, reading aloud, and playing games.
Pet Care: Light care duties for the dog and three cats (feeding, short walks, etc.)
Driver Desirable: Access to your own car and a valid UK driving licence is highly desirable for facilitating community access and appointments.
