Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic level 3 nursery professional to join our team:

To work alongside the staff team in the daily running of the allocated room in the nursery, working across the indoor and outdoor environment as per the staff rota.

To contribute to the medium-term planning for the allocated room in the nursery and to undertake short-term planning for the group, using the EYFS and Birth to Five Matters. To review the planning and activities delivered to ensure that these are effective in supporting the children.

To have responsibility for the assessment and recording for a key group of children, using the Blossom system to record observations and to communicate with parents.

To promote the development of children in your care with emphasis on the areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). To become familiar with updates to the EYFS framework and carry out statutory assessments in line with the EYFS.

To establish positive relationships with parents and primary carers and encourage involvement wherever possible.

To work within the staff team to ensure that a programme of activities operates within the allocated room at the Nursery, that reflects the particular needs of each child, facilitating their development.

To work with the staff team to ensure that the requirements necessary for the safety, security, nourishment, stimulation and rest are met with regards to the children in your care.

To work within the staff team to ensure that the service provided respects children’s life experiences and celebrates cultural diversity in terms of language, culture, ability, race and religion.

With the staff team, to ensure that the nursery provides for the developmental needs and care needs of an age range of children from nine months to four years of age.

To follow direction from the Nursery Manager/Deputy/Team leader to ensure that all staff are deployed effectively, and that time is used efficiently.

To ensure that parents receive relevant feedback at the end of the day and display boards are updated to reflect the learning that has taken place within the group.

To ensure that the online diaries are completed daily. To ensure that the information pertaining to sleeps / dinners/ toileting etc is recorded, in line with the expectations of the room within which you are working.

To ensure that you are careful with resources and that you take a shared responsibility in ensuring that toys, shape games and jigsaw pieces are sorted before putting them away and the rooms are kept tidy and clean.

To ensure that high standards of house-keeping practices and hygiene are adhered to, especially around the sink and nappy changing areas.

To ensure that you work within the staff team effectively, undertaking any additional job responsibilities, as assigned by the Nursery Manager / owner.

To communicate effectively and professionally with members of the staff team and the Nursery Manager/Deputy.
