Summary
A Vacancy at Northumbria Healthcare - NHCT Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
We have an exciting opportunity in North Tyneside to develop a service for children, young people and adults where sensory processing challenges are the primary need. We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Occupational Therapist to join the team working with the Northumberland Sensory Processing OT team to extend the existing service offer into the North Tyneside area.
We are looking for a dynamic OT to provide clinical expertise and training for people presenting with sensory processing issues. The post holder will be working alongside Band 7 OT staff to develop the service offer and deliver training for parents and practioners.
The successful candidate should have the knowledge and skills in the assessment and management of people with complex sensory presentations including those with ASD, social and emotional needs and learning disability. Candidates will have experience in collaborative working with families, settings and the wider multi-agency team.
The postholder will be based with the Paediatric Occupational Therapy service in North Tyneside with close working with the Northumberland Sensory Processing OT team based at Wansbeck General Hospital, and the Community Learning Disabilities team based at Wallsend Health Centre.
We can offer you a highly rewarding post which includes:

We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, covering one of the largest geographical areas of any NHS trust in the country. Leading in innovation and quality – opening a state of the art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England.
