Summary

Rikama Education Ltd are currently working with a SEN school located in Tunbridge Wells who are looking to recruit driven and professional Cover Supervisor.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a positive learning environment by supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting children's education and development,
particularly those with experience in special education or working with children with disabilities.

Duties:

• Supervise and manage classroom activities across various subjects, ensuring students remain engaged and on task.
• Support students with special educational needs, including those with autism or other disabilities, fostering an inclusive environment.
• Assist with behavioural management and promote positive behaviour strategies.
• Provide support to students through tutoring or mentoring, particularly in areas such as creative writing or other specialised subjects.
• Maintain a safe and organised classroom environment at all times.
• Communicate effectively with teaching staff regarding student progress and behaviour issues.
• Support the delivery of planned lessons where appropriate, ensuring continuity of learning during teacher absences.
• Encourage student participation and foster a respectful classroom atmosphere.

Requirements:

• Experience working with children, ideally within an educational or childcare setting.
• Knowledge of special education needs, including working with individuals with autism or other disabilities, is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills, capable of engaging and motivating students of diverse backgrounds.
• Experience in tutoring or mentoring students to support their academic progress.
• Creative writing skills are advantageous for supporting literacy activities.
• Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and manage behaviour effectively.
• A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
• Relevant qualifications or training related to education or special needs support are preferred but not essential. This role provides an enriching environment for individuals committed to making a positive impact on young people's lives through education and support services.
