Join our Team
Together for Children Sunderland is on a transformative journey to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people. We are an Ofsted-rated Outstanding Children’s Service, and we’re proud to be launching Red Gables, a brand new short breaks children’s home for children with disabilities.

Red Gables will provide high quality, trauma informed temporary care for children with a range of disabilities, including autism, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and life limiting conditions.

We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Registered Manager to lead this exciting new service.

About the role
As Registered Manager, you’ll be responsible for the leadership, development, and day-to-day running of Red Gables. You’ll ensure the home meets the highest standards of care, safety, and compliance with Ofsted and Children’s Homes Regulations.

You’ll lead a dedicated team to deliver personalised, trauma informed care that supports children to thrive. You’ll work closely with families, professionals, and commissioners to ensure every child’s voice is heard and their needs are met.

This is a unique opportunity to shape a new service from the ground up, with the full support of Together for Children’s experienced leadership and infrastructure.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

We want you to apply if you:
Hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or are willing to achieve this within 18 months)
Have significant management experience in a residential setting supporting children with disabilities
Are confident in safeguarding, risk management, and quality assurance
Can lead, inspire, and develop a staff team
Are committed to trauma informed, child centred practice
Are resilient, organised, and passionate about improving outcomes for children
