Background of department/role

Do you want to help inspire and support the next generation of students at Canterbury Christ Church University?
Are you passionate about opening doors for people who may never have seen university as part of their future?

We’re looking for a Student Recruitment and Outreach Specialist to play a key role in attracting, inspiring, and empowering future students. This is a dynamic, people-focused role where no two days look the same. You might be delivering an interactive workshop in a school, welcoming prospective students and families to our campus, or representing CCCU at a major recruitment event. Whatever the setting, you’ll help showcase how accessible, exciting, and life-changing university can be.

As part of our Student Recruitment and Outreach team, you’ll directly support the goals of our Access and Participation Plan (APP)—ensuring underrepresented groups feel confident that university is a place for them. This is your chance to shape futures, widen participation, and be part of a team that believes higher education should be within everyone’s reach.

If you love building connections, creating meaningful experiences, and making a real difference, this role could be the perfect fit.

What we’re looking for

Experience working with young people, with genuine enthusiasm for supporting their development
Confidence delivering engaging, interactive sessions to both small groups and large audiences
Knowledge of the UK university landscape to help students make informed decisions about their next steps
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to build rapport
Confidence using computers; experience with data systems or reporting tools is desirable but not essential
A full UK driving licence (essential)

How will you work?

We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible and this role is Flexible and connected (Professional Services). Campus attendance will vary on a day-to-day basis and across the year but must purposefully align to the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders. It is expected that there will be a relatively even balance between time spent on and off campus; but in most cases the work location will be determined by the service required or the tasks/activities being undertaken. This could be in schools and colleges or on campus delivering events or in the office working with the team.
