The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen at North Herts Council for an entry-level position within the Democratic Services team, to provide support and services for Committee, Member, Scrutiny and Electoral services.
You will be at the centre of the democratic process - dealing with people that want to be on the Electoral Register to be able to vote, as well as those that want to become a Councillor. You will be actively involved in the co-ordination and delivery of elections, experiencing firsthand all that is involved for someone to be able to place ‘that cross in the box’ of a ballot paper. You will provide support to those that were elected and assist with the administration of Council meetings, including the production of minutes and agendas – experiencing important decisions being considered.
The Experience you will bring
You will need good interpersonal skills, you will be flexible, a team player, confident be able to converse with a range of people, including Senior Officers, Councillors and the public, you will also have excellent attention to detail.
