Summary


The post holder willbe requiredtolead and develop a robust Patient Experienceand Public EngagementStrategywith the Director of Nursing,Deputy Director of Nursingand Divisional Heads of Nursing and Quality. In collaboration with theDirector of NursingandChiefMedicalOfficer, provide visible senior leadership to ensure that there are effectivePatient experiencestrategiesacrossthe Trust, with processes, systems, training and enabling tools for staff to implement these strategies locally. This will ensure safe and effective care for patients,staffand visitors.


The post holder willlead thePatient Experienceand Public EngagementTeam,overseeing theComplaints, PALS, Volunteer, Carers andpatientexperience and public engagement servicesinsupporting the Trust to meet the requirementoftheNational Patient Experience Strategy.


The post holder will keep abreast of national initiatives and developments,identifyingand communicating changes to ensure that best practice initiatives are implemented as part of continuous improvementwithin Patient Experience, Volunteering and Patient and Public Engagement. They will ensure that teams have up to date policies and procedures in place that are relevant, understood andcomplied with, and will provide training and development of staff asappropriate.


Lead the Patient Experience and Public Engagement Team at DCHFT.

Provide leadership to the volunteer services and compliancewith national processes and reportingregardingvolunteers in theNHSActas a catalyst for organisational change feeding back patient and carers experiences and views and recommending action to resolve problems

The post holder will have extensivecontact with patients and the publicthrough meeting and engagement opportunities seeking opinion and feedback.

To ensure that the Trust maintainsstatutoryrequirements for reportingfeedback responsesand analyse trends or themes to ensure that learning is embedded.

Maintain reporting mechanisms tomonitorand recordfeedbackactivity and outcomes within the Trust toidentifytrends and themes.Develop andmaintainservice evaluation mechanisms as required ensuring NationalPatient experiencestandards are met.


Assist with Development and maintenance ofup-to-daterelevant PALS and Complaints procedural policies and protocols.
