Summary
I am looking for a Personal Assistant to support me to live an active and independent life. I need someone who is ready to help me get out of the house, support me in the community, and be my hands for many day-to-day tasks.
My wheelchair is lightweight, but I cannot push it independently. You would need to help me move in and out of the house, navigate public transport, and possibly assist with car travel.
Support will include accompanying me to the gym, parks, museums, meetings, social events, and other activities, as well as helping with shopping. I would also appreciate help at home, such as light tidying, cooking, or gardening where possible.
This role suits someone who enjoys variety and is happy to adapt to different situations.
I am ideally looking for someone who is:
Physically able to assist with stairs and wheelchair pushing
Active, confident, and willing to take on the challenges of getting out and about
Happy to do a wide range of tasks, from enjoyable outings to more routine or repetitive jobs
Flexible with working hours
Good-humoured, reliable, and interested in the world.
Roles and Responsibilities
Assisting with mobility, including helping me down stairs and pushing my wheelchair
Supporting me to access the community, including using public transport and attending appointments, meetings, and social activities
Providing physical assistance with daily tasks where needed (acting as my hands)
Supporting leisure and wellbeing activities such as going to the gym, parks, and events
Helping with shopping and errands
Assisting with light household tasks such as tidying, cooking, and occasional gardening.
Hours Per Week8-30 Hours per week ( negotiable)
How will the hours be usedAny day, afternoons and/or evenings – flexible
Offering practical and social support to enable independence and participation.
Skills, Experience & Training
No formal qualifications are required. Training can be provided. A willingness to learn and a positive attitude are essential.
