Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Dispenser to join our dispensing team to provide quick, efficient and accurate dispensing of medication to patients. We are a busy 2 partner, dispensing practice with a patient list size of 4,300 patients.
The successful candidate will be a fully qualified dispenser and will assist in dispensing medications, provide excellent customer service, and support dispensary operations. Prior experience as a GP dispenser and knowledge of medication administration are highly desirable, as is a commitment to patient safety and care.
Responsibilities:
Dispensing medicines to patients safely and accurately
Collecting prescription charges in accordance with dispensary protocol
Maintaining stock levels within the dispensary
Ordering, receiving and storing medication in accordance with current policy, ensuring the cold chain is maintained where applicable
Safe disposal of returned and / or out of date medication
Ensuring all prescriptions are processed within the time frame in accordance with the practice policy
Providing patients with advice regarding prescription matters and dealing with problems and enquiries
Assist in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient environment
Qualifications
NVQ Level 2 in Dispensing (essential)
Experience
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care practices
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Experience of working in a GP Dispensary
Experience of using SystmOne
Salary: Dependent on experience
