Summary


We are expanding the NCA Dermatology Skin Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) team and we have a vacancy available on a fixed term/secondment basis.
• 1 x 30 hours

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, highly motivated nurse who wants to develop their expertise as a CNS with relevant knowledge & experience to support patients with a skin cancer diagnosis and their families throughout the skin cancer pathway. Holistic needs assessments and personalised care and support planning is a part of this role. They will join an established Skin Cancer nursing team of a Lead Nurse, two CNS' and two Skin Cancer Care Coordinators. The team are based across sites of Salford, Stockport/Altrincham and Fairfield/Radcliffe. On occasion it may be required to support the offsite facilities.

The successful candidate will work alongside members of the MDT including Consultant Dermatologists, CNS teams and AHP's within and outside of the organisation.

Previous Dermatology nursing experience is highly desirable. There will be opportunities for professional development and therefore must be willingness to work towards BDNG competencies in performing minor skin procedure skills.

The candidate should be passionate about delivering & developing a high-quality service to patients within the service and be driven by the desire to improve services. You will be given the full support of the senior nursing, medical and service teams.
• To provide specialist nursing advice and support to patients, their families and carers from the time of diagnosis and throughout treatment and follow-up phases of treatment and care.
• Work autonomously to manage your own caseload of patients, whilst working as part of the multidisciplinary team.
• To undertake and support the Skin Cancer Care Coordinators in undertaking holistic needs assessments and personalised care and support planning.
• Assess and address people’s health and wellbeing needs when those needs are complex and change across the caseload.
• Willingness to complete training in minor skin surgery to perform low risk skin procedures.
• Involved in audits and therefore help develop and improve the Skin Cancer service.
• Ability to travel independently across hospital sites if required.
• Develop own and others knowledge and practice addressing individuals health and well-being needs, across professional and organisational boundaries.
• Monitor and maintain health, safety and security of self and others in own work area.
• Promote people’s equality, diversity and rights at all times.
