Millfield are seeking a passionate and skilled Part-Time Specialist Dance Coach to join the Dance and Drama Department on a maternity cover basis from February. This term-time only role offers a salary of £4,865.64 per annum and involves working 6 hours per week, likely on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The successful candidate will design and deliver high-quality dance coaching with a focus on street dance and musical theatre, supporting students from beginner to advanced levels and nurturing their technical, musical, and expressive development.
The candidate will also work at Millfield Prep School in Glastonbury, contributing to dance classes across both schools, offering specialist coaching for students preparing for auditions, and supporting performances. Responsibilities include choreographing pieces for termly and annual events, maintaining accurate registers and termly reports, identifying opportunities for workshops and visits, and collaborating with colleagues to support the wider Dance programme.
We are looking for someone with professional experience in Street Dance and Musical Theatre, knowledge of the local and national dance community, and a genuine passion for dance in education. The ability to inspire, motivate, and engage young dancers is essential, as is a willingness to contribute to the broader life of the Dance and Drama Department.
