Crynodeb
The Professional Support Unit (PSU) in London provides specialist multi professional individual and group support for eligible Postgraduate Doctors and Dentists in training along with a smaller number of additional healthcare practitioners in supervised posts. The support offered is in addition to that available through training programmes, employers and local services. A key remit of the PSU is to support clients who are experiencing difficulties in progression through training.
Client support is currently provided through a number of PSU services namely PSU Advisor or Single Point of Contact (SPOC) service, Coaching & Careers, Neurodiversity and Specialist Clinical Communication & Linguistics.
This post is for an experienced clinical educator to join the team as a lead for PSU Advisor/Single Point of Contact team.
The current vacancy is for an experienced clinical educator to join as
an Associate Dean for the PSU Advisor/Single Point of Contact service
on a fixed term basis until Until March 2027. It is currently expected the
PSU service will continue after March 2027 by which time the
position on longer term employment opportunities is expected to be
clarified.
• The Associate Dean role is for an experienced clinical educator in
current or very recent clinical practice. They should have held
educational and/or educational leadership roles in addition to other
formal training and experience in supporting postgraduate doctors in training.
• The post includes a combination of individual support meetings with
clients of the PSU managing complex cases, supporting PSU advisors in the team, operational management and administrative liaison,
strategic planning and service improvement, chairing MDT and
supervision meetings as well as facilitating groups and workshops for the PSU.
