Hours: 37 per week (09:00 – 17:00)

The Role
As a Senior Planner, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of small major and minor planning applications. This role is designed to cover existing work pressures, reduce backlogs, and ensure timely processing of incoming applications.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and determine small major and minor planning applications in line with statutory requirements.
Provide professional planning advice to applicants, stakeholders, and colleagues.
Contribute to reducing application backlogs and supporting the delivery of efficient planning services.
Prepare reports and recommendations for committees and senior officers.
Ensure compliance with planning legislation, policies, and procedures.
Candidate Requirements
Proven experience in development management within a local authority or similar setting.
Strong knowledge of planning legislation, policies, and procedures.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied caseload.
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
