This role provides an exciting opportunity to be part of a unique team of healthcare professionals who make a tangible difference to the lives of millions of people by bringing their medical knowledge to those needing DWP support.
We have one post available as PIP escalation lead.
The successful candidate will work with the clinical team, working closely with senior stakeholders in our external providers that deliver health and disability assessments on behalf of the Department. This role will provide the end point for assurance for DWP officials that their audit policies are being implemented as intended by ensuring they are reflected accurately.

This role will provide the assurance for DWP officials that their policies are being implemented as intended but also acted as a conduit between providers and the Department.
Key tasks include:
- Take a leadership role in the PIP clinical team
- Ensure the PIPAG is in line with current DWP clinical policy
- Support legal cases on PIP
- Support on Freedom of information requests and Parliamentary questions on PIP
- Run the PIP audit escalation process and act as the final sign off on challenges within the audit process
- Draft and deliver (including in-person) high quality advice for the chief medical advisor and senior officials on PIP and how its working from a clinical perspective.
- Work directly with Departmental providers of disability/functional assessments to deliver high standard, accurate clinical and health related advice that reflects current practice.
- Lead ad hoc strategic work/projects in this area in response to areas in need of improvement.
