My client, a welcoming and close-knit veterinary practice based in Co. Durham, is seeking a passionate and motivated Veterinary Surgeon to join their dedicated team. The practice is made up of an experienced Branch Partner, Practice Manager, Veterinary Surgeons, and a full team of enthusiastic Nurses and Receptionists, all working together to provide exceptional care to patients and clients alike.

This RCVS-accredited practice is well-equipped and conveniently located close to the town centre. It offers excellent facilities including dedicated wards, a large waiting room, and a spacious preparation area with a separate imaging suite. For feline patients, there is a dedicated cat entrance, waiting room, and hospital ward, and the team is currently working towards ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic accreditation.

Modern diagnostic and treatment equipment includes digital and dental x-ray, endoscopy, ultrasound, physiotherapy laser, and in-house haematology and biochemistry machines.

The practice is located in a popular market town ideally situated between Newcastle and Durham, offering the perfect balance between small-town tranquillity and easy access to city life. Excellent transport links make commuting effortless.

The Role

This is a full-time position (40 hours over 4 days per week) with 1 in 5 Saturday mornings (8:30 – 12:00). However, the team understands the importance of work-life balance and is happy to discuss part-time options to suit individual needs.

Your Skills and Experience

• RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon
• Proven experience delivering exceptional care to patients and clients
• Strong teamworking and collaboration skills
• Demonstrated clinical leadership ability
• Commitment to fostering a progressive, positive clinical culture
• Supportive of nurse consults and Schedule 3 procedures, understanding their role in clinic efficiency
• Skilled in coaching, mentoring, and influencing to help colleagues perform at their best
