Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and practical individual to join our team as a Trainee Fire Sprinkler Engineer. This entry-level role offers hands-on training and industry-recognised qualifications in the installation, maintenance, and testing of fire sprinkler systems. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced engineers to develop the skills needed to become a fully qualified Fire Sprinkler Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
-Assist senior engineers in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings
-Learn to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications
-Support in identifying faults, carrying out repairs, and replacing components when required
-Follow company procedures and ensure compliance with relevant fire protection standards (e.g., BS EN 12845, LPCB)
-Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in good working condition
-Complete training modules, attend safety briefings, and participate in assessments as part of professional development
-Foster positive communication with clients, contractors, and team members on site
-Ensure health and safety protocols are strictly observed at all times
Skills & Attributes
-Practical, hands-on mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
-Willingness to learn and take direction from senior engineers
-Good communication skills and a professional attitude
-Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying site conditions
-Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
-Basic understanding of plumbing, mechanical systems, or construction (desirable but not essential)
Qualifications & Requirements
-GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English (required)
-Full UK driving licence
-CSCS card or willingness to obtain one
-Right to work in the UK
-No previous experience necessary—full training is provided
Training & Progression
-Structured training programme leading to qualifications such as:
-LPCB / BAFE training modules
-NVQ in Fire Sprinkler Installation
-In-house technical and safety training
-Clear progression path to roles such as:
-Fire Sprinkler Engineer
-Lead Engineer
-Project Supervisor / Manager
