SEN Teaching Assistant (SEMH) KS1 to KS4
Location: Bromley / Orpington
Salary: £13.69 - £15.69 per hour
Contract: Long-term, with potential for permanent placement

Rikama Education Ltd. is looking for enthusiastic, compassionate, and motivated Teaching Assistants to join a specialist SEMH school supporting pupils aged 5-18. Many pupils are working up to one key stage behind, providing a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful, life-changing impact on children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs and challenging behaviour.

Small class sizes to maximise engagement, focus, and progress

Key Responsibilities:
Lead learning activities for individuals and small groups under supervision
Assist in planning and preparing learning activities
Provide teachers with meaningful feedback on pupil progress, achievements, and development
Promote inclusion and adapt support to meet diverse learning needs
Respond sensitively to pupils' physical, emotional, and behavioural needs
Uphold school policies, including safeguarding and health & safety
Attend multi-agency meetings as required
Liaise with parents/carers regarding learning support and pupil welfare
Participate in progress meetings to review pupil development and next steps
Cover lessons within your allocated subject when needed
Maintain and update key pupil documents, including passports and progress reviews
Attend all CPD and training sessions
Contribute to curriculum planning
Champion specialist areas (e.g., dyslexia, ADHD)
Support or lead whole-school events
Foster a strong team culture through ongoing professional development
Ideal Candidate:
Experience in SEN settings, particularly SEMH, is highly desirable
Calm, patient, and resilient approach
Passionate about helping young people achieve their potential
Team-focused, reflective, and proactive
