Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated professional with a passion for supporting vulnerable young people, who will bring energy, empathy and creativity to the role of Assistant Headteacher. You will play a key part in helping our learners to engage positively with school life, overcome barriers to learning and achieve both academically and socially. You will work as part of a growing multidisciplinary team that includes teachers, therapists and an educational psychologist, all dedicated to improving outcomes for our learners. Through close collaboration with colleagues, you will build relationships that foster emotional regulation, resilience and self-belief. You will help learners to reflect on their experiences, make positive choices and build trust that enable them to succeed in school and beyond. As Assistant Headteacher for Behaviour and Wellbeing, you will play a key role in promoting and maintaining a positive, inclusive, and safe school culture. This role involves leading the development and implementation of strategies to support pupil wellbeing, manage behaviour effectively, and foster positive attitudes towards learning. You will contribute to the leadership of the school, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality provision, and supporting the Headteacher and Deputy Head with the operational running of the site.You will be accountable for leading measurable improvements in learners’ behaviour and wellbeing, participation and progress. Your commitment to inclusion, strong communication skills and ability to connect with young people will make a tangible difference to their educational journeys. Experience of working with autistic children and young people or those with social, emotional and mental health needs would be an advantage.
