Are you a dedicated practitioner with a passion for supporting social and emotional development?Welton Primary School currently has an exciting opportunity for a compassionate and driven individual to join our team as an EHCP Teaching Assistant. We are looking for a professional to support our teaching staff with responsibility for the development and educational provision of learners with specific needs.The RoleAs an EHCP Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in the classroom and the wider school community. You will be responsible for:Educational Support: Assisting with the planning, preparation, and delivery of lesson provision on both a whole-class and individual basis.Pastoral Care: Ensuring pupils are supported pastorally, fostering a safe and nurturing environment.Monitoring Progress: contributing to the evaluation of student progress and providing vital feedback to the class teacher to ensure all learning needs—and EHCP targets—are being met.Who We Are Looking ForWe are looking for a team player with excellent communication skills who can work in tandem with our teaching staff. The ideal candidate will have:Specialist Knowledge: A strong understanding of EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) and experience working towards specific educational and developmental targets.Nurture & Support: Experience delivering nurture or social and emotional support is highly desirable. We are specifically looking for candidates who can demonstrate empathy and understanding of student needs.Desirable Training: Candidates who are Thrive trained or have experience with similar therapeutic approaches to support needs of the individual pupilsTeamwork: The ability to work collaboratively with other teaching assistants, teachers, SENCos, and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes.Job RequirementsTo be considered for this position, you must have:A minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including English and Maths.Experience of class supervision and assisting with lesson provision.Good written and verbal communication skills.Desirable: A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification.Why Join Welton Primary School?We believe in investing in our staff as much as our students.
