Summary

Leading civils and groundworks company is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to work a variety of projects throughout the UK. Projects include : earthworks, excavation, drainage, 278 works, groundworks.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our clients growing team. Our office is based in Stratford-Upon-Avon and we have projects in various locations across the UK including Oxford, Bristol, Swindon and the midlands. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, commercially aware, and skilled at delivering cost-effective solutions across a range of projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction cost management and be confident in supporting projects from inception through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities
  • Manage project costs and track financial performance throughout project lifecycles
  • Conduct tender analysis and prepare tender documentation
  • Assess subcontractor quotations and manage procurement processes
  • Prepare interim valuations, final accounts, and variations
  • Liaise with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure accurate cost control
  • Provide commercial advice and reporting to the senior team
  • Ensure compliance with contractual terms and industry standards

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor (minimum 2+ years preferred)
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with cost management and estimating software
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
