Summary

The Service & Team: Its an exciting time for our Information and Data Team to continue to support the Digital Transformation and the Performance and Business Planning Service of the Council. We need enthusiastic and skilled employees who can help substantially improve the Councils Data and Insight tools and streamline our business processes to be less burdensome and more accessible for our staff and managers. The data engineering roles assist in the design and implementation of data flows to connect operational systems, data for analytics and business intelligence systems, as directed and according to departmental ororganisational policy.This role works in a team of data specialists and engineers making sure services are delivered and used as required. They provide specialist technical support and assistance to projects ensuring delivery of data requirements, to continually improve our services and to exploit the use of data and insight to support our frontline services. They are responsible for the preparation and support of IT data solutions and services in line with industry and organisational best practices standards, service requirements and key performance Indicators (KPIs) throughout the life cycle of our data projects. They have an ability to solve real time business problems, to listen to customer data issues, and the skill and innovation to solve them. They will have good communication skills and be able to present their findings to customers. This is a customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies. This position will be subject to a standard criminal record disclosure check. Working Pattern: The role is 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and the role is subject to our Flexi time scheme. What youll need to succeed: To excel in this role, you'll need strong analytical skills to quickly diagnose the root cause of an issue and recommend the most effective solution. You'll also need excellent communication skills to explain technical problems in a clear and customer-friendly manner to a wide range of colleagues. We're looking for someone with proven experience in an data support environment. The ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously is also crucial to your success.
