Y/02 PT Personal Assistant (Female) in York YO24

The job:
Part time female personal assistant to support and assist a sociable, friendly young woman with good communication who lives within her family home. The young woman enjoys and participates in weekly work. leisure and social activities. The young woman, the employer, is a permanent wheelchair user with mild Epilepsy and has a small established team of PAs who provide 2:1 support with her physical, health and care needs.

Tasks include:
Moving and Handling
Personal Care inc. Stoma care
Administering of Medication
Social support
Support and assistance in Hydrotherapy Pool (2:1 weekly session)
Support to use technology e.g. IPad/IPhone

The Right Person:
Experience and skills essential for this role include good communication and listening skills, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, friendly, with a can-do positive attitude. Moving and Handling experience and the ability to carry out moving and handling duties throughout the day is required.

Minimum of 6 months PA/support worker experience.

Non-smoker.

The Hours:
16 - 20 hours per week

Shifts are varied, flexible, worked on a rota, full or half days across Monday to Sunday. Days and times are to be arranged with the employer

Shifts required are days, afternoons, evenings and some weekends.

The Rate of Pay and Benefits:
£14.70 per hour.

Time and a half paid when working on a Bank Holiday.

5.6 weeks (pro-rata) paid holidays per year.

The post is subject to a DBS Check and satisfactory references. The cost of the DBS check will be met by the Employer.
