Summary
Centrex Computing Services Ltd are looking for a reliable adaptable and enthusiastic Workshop Service Technician due to the continued growth of our operation, who thrives on a challenge. Some previous PC/ Laptop, IT repair, AV, printer or similar experience is an alternative field is preferred.
A full driving license will be advantageous to the application but not essential.
This role would be ideal for someone with a keen interest in IT hardware who enjoys problem-solving and working with such equipment as computers and printers as examples. You will be the first point of contact for incoming devices, carrying out initial checks and basic testing to identify faults before repairing the units or escalation to specialist engineers.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform diagnostic tests on computers and printers.
• Record and report findings clearly and accurately.
• Identify common hardware issues and escalate complex faults.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace for incoming equipment.
• Follow company procedures for logging and tracking devices.
• Support colleagues with routine tasks as required
Skills & Experience
• Basic knowledge of computer and printer hardware.
• Ability to follow diagnostic checklists and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
• Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
• Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
A standard shift pattern operates on a five days on two days off basis, normally covering 40 hours per week.
Overtime will be paid for any additional hours over those contracted for each week and all positions are subject to 28 days annual holiday (pro rata)
