Role Overview:
We are actively recruiting a highly proficient and resident-focused Multi-Skilled Carpenter to join our busy maintenance response team. This critical position focuses on providing reliable, high-quality repair and upkeep services to tenants within our housing association properties throughout Bracknell and the local area.
This opportunity provides an exceptional 12-week temporary to permanent path for an experienced tradesperson seeking long-term stability and commitment within the social housing sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Core Reactive Maintenance & Carpentry Specialist-
Manage and successfully execute all assigned urgent and routine reactive repair tasks across occupied and empty (void) social housing units.

Conduct precise fault identification during the initial visit, strongly aiming for a "First Time Fix" whenever practically possible.

Specialised expertise in all aspects of carpentry and joinery, covering but not limited to:

Fitting, adjusting, and repairing all types of doors (internal and external), frames, associated locks, handles, and hinges.

Replacement and installation of kitchen units, work surfaces, skirting boards, and architraves.

Undertaking minor roof repairs and ensuring the safety of damaged timber structures following emergencies.

Skillfully carry out necessary minor repair work across supplementary trades:

Basic Plumbing: Addressing domestic leaks, replacing taps, minor toilet/cistern repairs, and clearing simple waste blockages.

Patch Plastering & Tiling: Performing neat patch repairs to damaged plasterwork and small-scale tiling work in wet areas.

Decorating: Carrying out minor 'making good' and finishing decoration following other repair activities.

General Fabric Repairs: Resealing joints around baths/showers, performing basic exterior pointing, and repair/replacement of fencing.

Efficiently manage the daily schedule using a handheld device/PDA, ensuring all job specifics, materials utilized, and completion notes are accurately logged.

Maintain sufficient levels of van stock to guarantee that common repairs can be completed without delay.

Deliver exceptional customer service, maintaining professional communication with tenants and minimising intrusion while working in their homes.

Rigorously comply with all mandated company and site-specific Health & Safety regulations.
Candidate Requirements:
Essential Skills & Qualifications-
A recognised trade qualification (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent) in Carpentry/Joinery is mandatory.

Significant, proven experience working as a Multi-Trade Operative in a reactive domestic or social housing maintenance environment.

Demonstrated high competence in Carpentry backed by strong functional skills in other secondary trades (Plumbing, Plastering, Tiling).

Must possess a full, current UK Driving Licence (a company vehicle will be supplied for work use).

Ability to work effectively without close supervision, manage time effectively, and maintain accountability for the quality of work delivered.
