NELFT is looking for experienced Urgent Care Practitioners (Band 7) to join our busy Urgent Treatment Centres across four sites.This is an exciting opportunity for autonomous clinicians who thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working at the top of their scope of practice.
You will play a vital role in delivering autonomous clinical practice and leadership within NELFT’s Urgent Care services, supporting a diverse population across multiple sites, and managing presentations ranging from minor to more complex urgent care cases, with access to radiology, follow-up clinics, and established community pathways.
Our UTCs operate24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and we offerflexible shift patternsacross days, nights and weekends to support work–life balance.
About You
You will :
• be a Registered General Nurse / AHP with evidence of autonomous practice in Minor Illnesses and Minor Injuries and relevant post registration qualifications.
• Have completed Minor Injuries and Minor Illness modules
• Have the ability to support and manage patients of all ages including assessment diagnosing, treatment and discharge in Minor Injuries and Minor Illness
• Have A&E/ Urgent Care experience
Our Urgent Treatment Centres operate24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing care when patients need it most. We recognise the importance of work–life balance and offer flexible shift patterns across days, evenings, nights and weekends, with opportunities to work across different sites where appropriate. This flexibility allows you to tailor your working pattern while gaining varied and valuable urgent care experience.
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes.
Probationary PeriodThis post will be subject to a probationary period.
High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15%of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,714 and a maximum payment of £5,941 - per annum, pro rata for part time).
Welcome Payment
This post is eligible for the Trust 'Welcome to NELFT' Payment, a lump sum of 10% of agreed basic salary (pro rata if part time and exclusive of HCAS payments) (subject to a minimum of £4,000 and maximum of £10,000) and is open to all new applicants who are successfully appointed. Payment of the incentive is 50% of the lump sum at the end of the probationary period (typically six months) and then 50% at the end of year two. This welcome package is applicable to external candidates only.
Candidates should be aware that welcome payments are subject to a compulsory 2 year employment period within the role.
