Harborough District Council has invested in its Business Centres Harborough Innovation Centre (HIC) and Harborough Enterprise Centre (HEC) to support innovative, early-stage companies in the East Midlands.

Harborough Innovation Centre offers start-up, growth and innovation businesses across Harborough District office space and a range of business support services including mentoring, training and networking opportunities. There are 57 offices for rent, as well as meeting rooms, conference facilities and virtual office services.

Harborough Enterprise Centre works in tandem with the Harborough Innovation Centre, offering a range of business space and support for companies to grow and enjoy the benefits of Harborough District as a place to do business, thereby creating jobs for the high volume of talented individuals in the surrounding area.

The business centres are located in Market Harborough which is centrally located between the cities of Leicester, Cambridge, Birmingham and Nottingham and only a 1 hour train journey from London. The Harborough Innovation Centre and Harborough Enterprise Centre are both vibrant central hubs for new and growing businesses.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Centres Manager to lead a professional team, to manage the facilities and provide tailored business growth support for its businesses whilst attracting and generating new business. The postholder will ensure a professional, practical and comprehensive support service is provided to clients at both HIC and HEC.

With previous experience in a similar role, the successful candidate will hold a relevant HND / degree (e.g. Business, Management, Finance, Law) or be able to demonstrate equivalent aptitude. You will have experience of generating income and supporting clients in a business-to-business environment and managing a team and a large budget. You will be professional, proactive and conscientious and have excellent sales, customer service, leadership and communication skills to ensure good working relationships are formed and be a competent user in MS Office including, Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook.

The role will involve taking ownership for collating and analysing data in order to produce reports and recommendations to the Corporate and Senior Management Team.

You will be a highly motivated individual who is able to use your initiative to work independently in order to solve problems and adapt quickly to changing circumstances. You must be able to adopt a flexible approach to your work, and occasional work outside normal office hours may be required.
