We have a unique opportunity for a warm, motivated and dedicated individual to join our team and lead our short stay support service. We are incredibly fortunate to have three single occupancy Chalets on our flagship site in Standish that offer opportunities for individuals from all walks of life to have a break from their norm. Our Chalets are fully furnished, and people can access these by bringing their own support or receiving support from our in-house team. Our location is certainly spectacular, and we truly believe this role is something special. Each person has their own dedicated team, delivering support that’s tailored specifically to their needs and preferences. This isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach—it's about making sense for them and making a difference.
About the Role:
This is an exciting role – part hands-on, part management – where you'll support adults and children with learning disabilities, autism, complex care needs and mental health challenges in our short stay provision. You'll play a key role in shaping services that offer a person-centred service that is so vital to many.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, complex health needs, and mental health conditions
• Supervising, mentoring and motivating a team of Support Workers
• Leading service delivery to ensure high standards of care and regulatory compliance
• Supporting with rota planning, staff development, care planning, reviews, and risk assessments
• Supporting with assessments and transitions
• Participating in the on-call rota as part of the management team
• Contributing to the growth and development of our services in your local area
• Building strong relationships with families, professionals, and the wider community
Who We’re Looking For:
My Life is seeking caring, reliable and confident leaders who share our values and bring experience, heart and resilience to their work.
Essential Criteria:
• A minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) – and willingness to work towards Level 5 if not already held
• Direct experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs and/or mental health challenges
• Previous experience in a leadership role
• Strong understanding of community-based support
• Ability to manage flexible staffing solutions to meet short stay requirements.
• Ability to lead and manage a team, handle complex situations and drive positive outcomes
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
• A flexible and hands-on approach – this is role is split between our Standish site and your community location
• Ability to participate in the on-call rota
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
Desirable:
• Experience of managing short stay/respite services
• NVQ Level 4 or 5 (or equivalent leadership and management qualification)
