Derby College Group (DCG) is seeking enthusiastic Teachers of Computer Science and ICT to join our team at the Joseph Wright Centre on a sessional basis.

The Opportunity

We are actively seeking staff to fill a range of roles within the ICT department.

Work will be offered on a sessional basis, including casual cover but may lead on to future permanent part time or full time roles.

You will be expected to deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that inspire learners and support their progression. The role involves adapting to different learning environments, using innovative technology, and ensuring students are challenged and making progress. This is an excellent opportunity to share your expertise while maintaining flexibility around your other commitments.

About You

You can be someone with or without a teaching qualification, but you will have the expert knowledge or computer industry experience that allows you to comfortably deliver lessons and design assessments. You will be enthusiastic, confident, with strong interpersonal and time management skills. A teaching qualification (or a willingness to work towards one) and a degree in Computing or a related field are essential. You should be able to deliver engaging modules, with the flexibility to adapt to different levels, qualification types and student needs. Industry experience and knowledge of FE accreditation are highly desirable, but the role is equally suited to a recent or future graduate looking to start a career in teaching. We expect for you to bring expertise in one or all areas such as programming, project management, cyber security, computer networks or software development in general, along with the focus and dedication required to succeed in the teaching profession.
