Retail Shop Supervisor | Hainton Square, North East Lincolnshire | Full Time (5 days per week, 9:30 am – 4:30 pm, flexible across Monday–Saturday) | £12.33 per hour

About Our Client

Our client is a local charity dedicated to supporting people affected by domestic abuse. They provide practical support, safe accommodation, advice, and guidance to help individuals and families rebuild their lives. The organisation also works closely with local services and the wider community to create safer, stronger communities.

They are seeking a motivated and experienced Retail Shop Supervisor to manage the day-to-day operations of their Hainton Square shop. You will lead a team of volunteers, maintain high shop standards, ensure excellent customer service, and contribute to achieving sales and financial targets.

Are you the right person for the job?

Experience & Knowledge:

• Supervising a team in a retail environment and working with/supporting volunteers or staff
• Delivering against financial or income targets, including cash handling, banking, and till reconciliation
• Visual merchandising, maintaining high standards, and managing stock control/rotation
• Promoting Gift Aid or similar incentive schemes
• Retail, customer service, or management qualification
• Awareness of Health & Safety, risk management, and equality, diversity, and inclusion in practice

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate, support, and engage volunteers and staff
• Excellent customer service and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to plan, organise, prioritise, and manage performance effectively
• Numeracy and basic IT skills (email, EPOS systems, Microsoft Office, Outlook)
• Calm, adaptable, and solution-focused approach when responding to challenges
• Creative approach to displays, marketing, and community engagement

What will your role look like?

As Retail Shop Supervisor, you will:

• Lead the day-to-day running of the Hainton Square shop, ensuring high standards of presentation, stock, and customer experience
• Induct, support, and develop volunteers to create a confident, skilled, and motivated team
• Oversee financial performance, including sales targets, Gift Aid promotion, and cash handling
• Contribute to local community engagement and represent Women’s Aid positively at all times
• Maintain health, safety, and safeguarding standards, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all
• Collaborate with other retail staff and management to support wider organisational initiatives and campaigns

Success in this role will be measured by:

• Achievement of sales and Gift Aid targets
• A motivated, reliable, and well-supported volunteer team
• Positive customer and community feedback
• High standards of shop presentation and operations
• Timely and accurate reporting and administrative tasks
