Job Title: Personal Assistant / Carer
About the Role: An individual employer is seeking a compassionate and patient personal assistant/carer to support an elderly gentleman who is deaf, almost fully blind, and physically frail. He is a kind and gentle person, though he can sometimes be a little stubborn, so this role requires understanding, empathy, and plenty of patience.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing support with daily routines
Preparing meals (Sunday lunch and evening dinners)
Assisting with changing into nightwear
Offering companionship and reassurance
Hours:
Sunday morning until lunchtime
Sunday evening (approx. 2 hours for dinner and bedtime routine)
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings (approx. 2 hours each)
Around 12 hours per week, plus extra cover during holidays
Covering additional hours during annual leave when needed
Requirements:
Kind, patient, and dependable
Genuine passion for supporting elderly individuals
Ability to communicate effectively with someone who is deaf and visually impaired
Previous care experience is an advantage but not essential — the right attitude and compassion matter most
The successful applicant will undergo references and an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
