Summary
The Chief Operating Officer Group works closely with the Home Office’s policy and operational commands to enable us together to deliver the department’s priorities. The group is comprised of different teams and professional functions, including Commercial, Finance, People, Portfolio and Project Delivery, Security, Estates and Information and Digital, Data and Technology.
Metis is the Home Office’s critical Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution which provides the department’s Commercial, Financial, HR and Payroll services for users including those in the Home Office and other Arm’s Length Bodies.
The Metis Programme sits within the Home Office Migration, Borders & Technology Portfolio (MBTP). The successful candidate will join a small team of civil servants and contractors. This team provides commercial support to Metis as well as the Synergy Programme, which is a wider Government initiative aimed at transforming shared services for HR, Finance and Procurement across major departments.
The role will involve supporting the G7 Commercial Lead in procuring and managing several gold and silver tier contracts within the team. The candidate will also be expected to provide additional support when needed to other programmes within MBTP.
Key Responsibilities
- Transforming requirements into procurement plans and managing complex and strategic procurements in line with Home Office policies and procurement law.
- Stakeholder management through advising on procurement options and identifying risks and mitigations.
- Conducting early market engagement to understand market capability and inform the tender process.
- Contract management through collaborating with suppliers and business units to ensure successful contract delivery.
- Managing cases in the procurement cycle through use of eSourcing systems such as Jaggaer and Crown Commercial Service Bravo Solution.
- Create innovative ways to manage data, drive value-add and aid pipeline development.
- Regular supplier performance reporting to senior management on gold and silver contracts.
- Leading KPI performance reviews for strategic contracts.
- Leading on engagement with governance boards ensuring Contracts and Statements of Work receive appropriate governance approvals.
Working Pattern
Due to the business requirements of this role, it is only available on a full-time basis.
