Long Term Futures is seeking a confident, consistent and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 6 male pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This role is ideal for someone who can offer calm structure, build strong rapport and help the pupil stay focused and engaged as they work towards Key Stage 2 SATs.
With Year 6 being a high-priority year, the school is looking for a TA who can support both the academic and emotional demands of SATs preparation while ensuring the pupil feels secure, motivated and ready to learn each day.
About the Role
- Working alongside the class teacher and SENCo, you will play a key role in supporting the pupil's learning, confidence and self-regulation. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing consistent daily 1:1 support tailored to the pupil's communication, sensory and learning needs
- Supporting SATs readiness through guided practice in reading, writing and maths
- Using ASD-friendly strategies including visual timetables, structured routines and clear language
- Encouraging focus, independence and resilience during whole-class and small-group activities
- Supporting social interaction, confidence and emotional regulation throughout the school day
- Liaising with class staff to adapt learning tasks and monitor progress

Ideal Candidate Profile
- Strong experience supporting pupils with ASD, ideally in KS2
- Confident delivering structured academic support, especially for SATs preparation
- Calm, patient and consistent in approach
- Able to build positive, trusting relationships quickly
- Proactive, reliable and committed for the full academic year
