Library Lead

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Newcastle College is seeking a passionate and proactive Library Lead to join our Central Support Service team. In this pivotal role, you will help shape and deliver library services that enhance and shape the student experience and support offer.

As Library Lead, you will take ownership of key areas such as print and e-resources, ensuring they are accessible, relevant, and integrated across our platforms. You'll collaborate with curriculum and support colleagues to develop innovative training, inductions, and workshops that empower students and staff to make the most of our library services and resources.

In addition, you will lead initiatives to promote the library through creative campaigns and communications, monitor usage and satisfaction, and contribute to the operational management of library functions such as systems and the acquisition strategy. Your work will directly enhance learning and foster inclusivity. We're looking for someone with:

  • Level 2 English and maths
  • Significant experience working in a library and/or customer service setting
  • Strong communication and IT skills
  • A commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and across our sites
