Crynodeb
To actively engage and participate in the delivery of safe and effective anaesthetic services in support of the specialist neurological, neurosurgical, neuroradiological and general workload at the University Hospital of North Midlands (Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital). To provide, alongside the other Consultant Neuro-anaesthetists, leadership and strategic direction in the provision, development and assurance of safe and effective neuro-anaesthetic care. To lead on the provision of consultant-delivered anaesthetic care for neurosurgical procedures, interventional neuroradiology, MRI and general procedures, and to support colleagues in providing cross-cover to ensure a 52-week service. To contribute to on-call consultant anaesthetic cover for emergency neurosurgical, neuroradiological (including stroke) and MRI on a 24/7 basis. To lead and participate in clinical governance and quality improvement activities in the wider anaesthetic directorate and the neuro-anaesthetic department in particular. To actively participate in teaching, training and supervision of anaesthetic postgraduate doctors in training (PGDiTs) and medical students from Keele Medical School.
