As the 1st Line onsite technician, you will support and install a diverse range of technologies within the college environment. Your primary responsibilities include providing onsite support for break-fix solutions along with installations and project work. Occasionally offering helpdesk support during exceptionally busy periods or covering holidays and sickness. This role is focused on reactive support along with proactive setups and installations.
Given the wide range of technologies used throughout the college, no two days will be the same and this role is ideal for someone passionate about IT and seeking variety in their work. You’ll join a small, supportive IT team and play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the college’s IT systems.
You’ll have opportunities to escalate issues to senior technicians, who will provide guidance and support, and there will be plenty of chances to learn and grow within the IT department. This role is full time, for 37 hours per week. There is an expectation that this role is delivered wholly on-site. Your chief place of work will be at either the Weymouth or Kingston Maurward Campus, but due to the nature of the role, you will be required to work across both sites as required. You may be required to work on either a temporary or an indefinite basis at any premises which the College currently has or may subsequently acquire, or at any premises at which the College may from time to time provide services. Currently, these locations include Weymouth Campus, Weymouth and Kingston Maurward Campus, Dorchester.
