Sport Therapist
Location: Henley-on-Thames
Salary: £24.76 per hour Contract Type: Casual Contract to 5th June 2026 Working Hours: To cover fixtures on a Wednesday during term time.
About the Role
The Henley College is seeking a qualified and dedicated Sport Therapist to support our football programme. You will work closely with the Head Coach and Programme Manager, providing expert acute injury care and rehabilitation to student-athletes during matches, both home and away (national travel included).
This is a vital role ensuring the safe and effective recovery of players, helping them return to their optimal level of football performance.
Main Responsibilities
• Acute intervention at matches: diagnosing sports-related injuries.
• Rehabilitation designing, implementing and evaluating interventions for a safe return to the students’ optimal level of football performance.
• Working independently but part of a team, considering safeguarding and confidentiality in a professional environment.
• Read and comply with the College Safeguarding Policy and Prevent Duty Policy.
• Comply with the College Data Protection policy and relevant legislation including GDPR.
• Be aware of and comply with Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Support and comply with the College’s Single Equality Scheme and relevant Equality and Diversity legislation.
• Work in accordance with the College’s policies and procedures, quality standards and systems.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties that may be required.
About you
We are looking for someone who combines strong knowledge with a positive, student-focused approach. The ideal candidate will have:
• Sport Therapy Degree Qualification
• Proven experience diagnosing and managing football-related injuries such as soft tissue injuries, concussions, and joint sprains
• Strong knowledge of pitch-side assessment and emergency protocols
• Experience supporting student athletes in an educational setting (desirable)
• Ability to communicate clearly and build strong relationships with staff, parents, students, and stakeholders
• Flexible, adaptable approach to working hours, including travel to away fixtures
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• A proactive attitude with a desire to learn, develop and embrace new challenges
