Summary

Surgery Administrator

Location: Based at Ashford & Canterbury site
Job Type: Fixed term, 6 month contract
Salary: £25,600 to £27,334 pro rata
Hours: Shift pattern of 9am to 5pm or 8am to 4pm

About the Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a strong Administrator to join a friendly and professional clinical team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of surgical services across two sites in Ashford and Canterbury. Providing high quality administrative support to management, nursing staff, consultants and patients.

If you have proven experience in a clinical or healthcare setting, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and take pride in supporting patients throughout their journey, this could be the perfect role for you.

You must be a car driver to be able to work between each site and have a full right to work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to clinical and management teams
  • Accurately record patient treatment, day case and inpatient information on relevant systems
  • Organise, scan and attach documents to patient records
  • Admit and discharge patients on internal systems, ensuring accurate completion of notes
  • Liaise with clinical, finance, admin teams and external partners to ensure smooth service delivery
  • Coordinate the transfer of patient records using NHS PAS/Allscripts and internal systems
  • Deliver excellent customer care, demonstrating tact, empathy and professionalism
  • Handle telephone and email enquiries efficiently and confidently
  • Support ordering of theatre equipment when required
  • Assist with audits, inspections and general clerical duties
  • Ensure internal systems are maintained and updated

Essential Requirements

  • Background in a healthcare or medical environment
  • Experience managing a busy workload in an administrative role
  • Strong understanding of information governance and patient confidentiality
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Professional and confident telephone manner
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
