Summary
Jennifer Griffiths Recruitment are looking for an experienced Brake Press Setter/Operator for a Bespoke Manufacturing Client in the Bridgend area.
Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to produce precise sheet metal components. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in fabrication and mechanical processes to contribute to high-quality production in a dynamic environment.
Experience with Bystronic or Edwards Pearson brake Press is essential. Previous experience of working in a sheet metal fabrication environment. Experience in rolling would be beneficial.
Responsibilities
Set up and calibrate press brake machines according to specifications and technical drawings
Operate press brake equipment efficiently to bend and form sheet metal components
Inspect finished parts for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery to ensure optimal performance
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders
Utilise hand tools and tooling to assist in fabrication, assembly, or finishing processes
Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety standards
Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and quality standards
Requirements
Proven experience in fabrication, sheet metal working, or related manufacturing roles
Knowledge of grinding, welding, and assembly processes is advantageous
Mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand tooling and machinery operation
Familiarity with hand tools and basic math skills for measurements and calculations
Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately
Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control
Good organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Prior experience operating press brake machinery is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
The hours of work are Monday to Thursday 7am to 4.30pm/Friday 6am to 1pm.
