We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic neonatal nurse to lead our team at Frimley Park Neonatal unit. You would be working closely with the neonatal Matron and practice development team to support our staff to deliver the highest standard of neonatal care.
The Neonatal Unit at Frimley Park is a Local Neonatal Unit made up of 2 Intensive Care, 5 High Dependency and 8 Special Care cots. The unit cares for babies over 27 weeks gestation and stabilises any baby under that gestation, to be transferred to a tertiary hospital/ NICU.
Our team aspires to provide high quality and evidence based; clinical, developmental and family integrated care in order to ensure the best outcomes for our babies and their families.
• To provide strong visible leadership to all staff within the department and across the organisation, ensuring that nursing practice is up to date, evidence based and cost effective.
• To develop the neonatal team, individuals and self to enhance performance, ensuring that staff training needs to meet organisational objectives are pursued through the principles of appraisal and knowledge and skills framework.
• To be responsible for own professional registration and ensure that all nurses working in the neonatal unit have valid NMC registration and practise in accordance with the NMC code, standards of conduct and in accordance with Trust policy.
• Provide leadership for the implementation of quality initiatives.
Foster a strong team focus on high quality, clinically effective healthcare that meet our babies and families’ needs is embedded in unit culture.
• Create and maintain a strong culture of Infection Prevention & Control awareness & practice and ensure compliance with systems in place to measure infection control and prevention standards, share good practice and develop and review action plans to address deficiencies.
