About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Head of Trading, Supply Chain & Procurement to lead our trading operations, supplier relations, and procurement activities. This key leadership position plays a crucial role in ensuring that our trading and logistics network runs efficiently while maintaining strong partnerships with global seafood suppliers and clients.
You will oversee the full supply chain process — from strategic sourcing and import/export coordination to warehouse management and client fulfilment — ensuring best practices, compliance, and profitability across all operations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage procurement strategies for seafood trading and distribution.
Negotiate supplier agreements, pricing structures, and delivery schedules.
Oversee import/export documentation and compliance with DEFRA, FSA, and UK customs regulations.
Monitor inventory, quality control, and warehouse operations.
Coordinate logistics and supply chain planning for domestic and international deliveries.
Lead a small team within the trading and supply chain division.
Work closely with the Managing Director to align operations with company growth targets.
Implement technology-driven solutions to optimise trading and procurement efficiency.
Requirements
Proven experience in trading, supply chain management, or procurement (preferably within the food or seafood sector).
Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
Knowledge of import/export procedures and UK food compliance regulations.
Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
Proficient in digital systems (ERP, CRM, or supply chain management tools).
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field (preferred).
